Transforming Our Campus

New classrooms. Learning labs. An outdoor green space. A theater and a multi-purpose gymnasium. These campus upgrades and more will create an environment that encourages students to excel at their highest potential.

Academics

Imagine Bay Ridge Prep will raise the bar for academics in a six-story, purpose-built facility slated to include:

• New classrooms outfitted with technology designed to extend inquiry, teach new skills and advance curricular goals. Ample space for Upper School students to collaborate in teams or work on individualized instruction.
• Greater capacity for innovative programs such as the Entrepreneurship Lab, a space for K-12 students to engage in activities and lessons that foster teamwork, problem solving and breakthrough leadership.
• Purpose-built science labs and maker space for students to create, investigate and conduct authentic research.
• Teaching, learning and co-curricular activities will be enhanced with the addition of Outdoor Green Space. Rooftop and terrace spaces will feature gardens and open space for classes, special events and social gatherings.

Ultimately, the facility will advance the learning experiences and outcomes for all Bay Ridge Prep students. The acquisition of optimum space enhances our ability to equip students for enriching and successful lives.

The Arts

Imagine Bay Ridge Prep will build a dedicated theater and a new art studio that will elevate the arts and strengthen ties within our school and with the community-at-large. These new space will accommodate the robust K-12 arts curriculum that includes:

• The Upper School Winter Arts Festival featuring visual arts and performances of the choir, jazz ensemble and more.
• Plays and performances such as the 4th and 5th grade “Renaissance Adventure,” which showcased the classes’ study of the Middle Ages as well as concerts by the middle school band and other music ensembles.
• Dance performances and stage shows by Lower School students as well as parent education programs

The added advantage of owning a theater is the new revenue it will generate through rentals to performing arts groups and other community organizations in Brooklyn.
The new facility will also feature multiple spaces beyond the theater dedicated to the arts, including: art studios, a music room and a performance art rehearsal space.

Athletics

Imagine Bay Ridge Prep will enhance the size and stature of Bay Ridge Prep Athletics by building a multi-purpose athletic space that will:

• Accommodate physical education classes for the Upper School and athletic team practices and home games for Middle and Upper School sports programs.
• Add two singles squash courts to support a flourishing racquet sport program.
• Improve the athletics experience of all teams. A full-size gymnasium frees up space for practices, allows better coordination and scheduling, and creates room for teams to work on specific skills and training.
• Provide space for other activities and events such as assemblies, performances and school-wide celebrations.

A pool will be a tremendous asset not only to Bay Ridge Prep, but to the community-at-large.
