About Bay Ridge Prep
Founded in 1998, Bay Ridge Prep is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school, located in Brooklyn, N.Y.
History
1998: Bay Ridge Prep began in one room schoolhouse on 78th Street with 35 children and eight faculty and staff. The Upper School leased classroom space at a nearby ambulance EMT training center.
1999: The school expanded to an adjacent building on 78th Street, and the Upper School moved to an expanded space.
2000: The school leased floor of the Union Church building on 81st Street for use by the Lower and Middle School. The Upper School occupied the entire space on 78th Street.
2004: The Upper School moved into leased space on 74th Street and 4th Avenue. The Lower and Middle School expanded at the 81st Street location.
2010: The School received accreditation from the New York State Association of Independent Schools and became a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.
2012: The 81st Street building was purchased to house the Lower and Middle School. Classroom and office spaces were expanded.
